Pollinator Meadow and Riparian Buffer - Tour
Public Welcome Registration Required Free Event Home/Private Garden Tour Lots of Physical Activity
Join Wild Ones Mid-Hudson Valley and Partners for Climate Action to tour a native meadow restoration project along the Wallkill River. We'll explore two lawn-to-meadow conversions installed in fall 2023, along with a riparian tree and shrub planting using pollinator-friendly species. This site tour will cover meadow site preparation and seeding techniques for sunny and shady sites, and will showcase the best native plant species to support threatened and endangered bees, butterflies, and moths. This site is an original case study for PollinateHV, an online toolkit and resource for supporting Hudson Valley native pollinators. The walk will be led by Avalon Bunge, PollinateHV project manager and Ecological Projects Manager at PCA.
Registration is required. A registration link will be available on July 27th.
This event takes place on private property in Gardiner, NY - address will be provided upon registration.
