Seed sowing in the winter? Yes! Most native plant seeds require a cold period before they send out roots and shoots. We'll show you one way that it's done, using potting soil and milk jugs. Come prepared to get your hands in the soil. Each participant will take home a planted jug. This workshop is a joint workshop with Vassar College. Registration is required.
Interested in going one step further? We are looking for volunteers to grow out these winter sown seeds for a WO plant sale this fall. We'll also be working with students to begin the year's propagation for Vassar's native propagation program.
Limited to 20 participants. $10 per person suggested donation, if not growing out plants. Donations can be made via the WO MHV website or at the event.
